Bio

Grammy and TEC award-winning producer/engineer Ed Cherney was known for his work with a wide array of artists, among them Sting, Iggy Pop, Bob Seger, Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, Jackson Browne, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones, to name just a few.

Over the course of his career, Cherney amassed four Grammy awards and one Emmy. In 1994, he took home the coveted Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical) award for Bonnie Raitt's Longing In Their Hearts, a year in which three of the five nominated albums were his work. Among his many famous tracks, he engineered Eric Clapton's 1993 Record of the Year “Tears In Heaven” and worked with Bruce Swedien and Quincy Jones on Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall.

With Ed’s untimely death from cancer in 2019, the world lost one of its truly exceptional talents. Mix With The Masters is humbled and honored to be able to provide some of Ed’s wisdom and humor for a worldwide audience.
