Bio
Ben Baptie is a London based mix engineer. He works out of his own studio situated in London Fields, East London.
He started his career assisting mix engineer Tom Elmhirst in both London and then the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York. After 4 1/2 years with Tom he left to go freelance.
The following year, he engineered for acts such as U2 and Will Butler (Arcade Fire), and mixed artists such as Mark Ronson and Lianne La Havas.
In 2016 he moved back to London, from New York, working mainly from Strongroom Studio 1 and working on a Neve VR desk. There he mixed records for artists such as Lady Gaga, The Strokes, Moses Sumney, Jamie T, Rex Orange County and Daughter.
In 2020, Ben set up his own studio based around a Neve Genesys console. Since then he has been mixing out of this room, as well as frequenting other London studios to record and produce. During this time he has worked closely with producer Inflo, as well as continuing other close relationships with artists such as Daughter, Moses Sumney, Leon Vynehall and Julian Casablancas.
Ben has also produced records for artists such as Rex Orange County, Cage The Elephant and Moses Sumney to name a few.
