Bio
Carlo Montagnese, better known as Illangelo, is a Grammy award-winning Canadian producer, songwriter, musician and mixing engineer from Calgary, Alberta. He is known mainly for being a long-time collaborator of fellow Canadian artist The Weeknd. Illangelo has played an integral part in his career, dating back to his debut release ‘House of Balloons’ in 2011. In 2015, he co-wrote the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping single ‘The Hills’. Aside from his catalog with The Weeknd, Illangelo has worked with a premium selection of artists including Alicia Keys, Post Malone, Katy Perry, Fall Out Boy, Wiz Khalifa, Majid Jordan, Emeli Sandé and M.I.A. As an artist in his own right, Illangelo released an album in 2013 called ‘History of Man’, inspired by 17th Century poet John Milton’s epic poem ‘Paradise Lost’.
