Bio
Mike Bozzi is an American Grammy-winning mastering engineer currently based at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, California.
He had exposure to the music business from a young age, as his father was a radio program director in New York and Los Angeles, and later worked at a major record label. This upbringing gave him a broad view of the industry which encompassed recording, live performance, broadcasting, marketing, and promotion.
Bozzi’s early jobs included being an usher at the Greek Theater, a manager in music retail, and an intern at A&M Records. In 1992 he was hired at Bernie Grundman Mastering as a part-time quality control engineer. His duties involved critical listening and the process of creating the final production master for duplication.
Mike was offered the position of assistant engineer to Brian "Big Bass" Gardner and remained his production engineer until 2015, when Brian retired and Mike was chosen as his replacement.
He has since mastered records my My Chemical Romance, Sally Shapiro, Sebastián Yatra, Post Malone, Roddy Rich, J. Cole, Snoop Dogg, Justin Bieber, Skrillex, 21 Savage, Ozzy Osbourne, Nas, Glass Animals, Dermot Kennedy, NF, Camila Cabello, The Weeknd, Robyn, Macy Gray, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Tyler, The Creator.
