Bio

Oklou is the recording name of Marylou Mayniel, a French musician and producer from Poitiers. Trained on piano and cello, she began putting her own recordings online around 2013 and issued her first EP as Oklou after moving to Paris in 2015. That same year she co-founded the DJ collective TGAF, which made waves on the Paris club scene until it disbanded in 2018.

Her 2020 mixtape Galore was met with critical acclaim by press and fans, featuring production by Casey MQ, A. G. Cook, Sega Bodega, and more. Her juxtaposition of ethereal vocals over synthetic arrangements borrowed as much from choral composition as from club music. Her debut album choke enough followed in February 2025, charting in France and the UK, with a deluxe edition in October adding a collaboration with FKA twigs. She has since performed at major festivals around the world, sharing stages with Lorde, Caroline Polachek, Flume, and more.
