Kathryn "Trina" Shoemaker is an American mixer, record producer, and sound engineer from Joliet, Illinois.

After graduating from high school in 1983, she moved to Los Angeles and got a secretarial job at Capitol Records. She then briefly moved to London, where she worked with artist Hugh Harris. On her return to the United States, she began working for producer Daniel Lanois at Kingsway Studios in New Orleans.

In 1995, after working on Emmylou Harris' iconic album 'Wrecking Ball', Shoemaker decided to go freelance. Within a few months, she was hired by artist Sheryl Crow to record her breakout self-titled album.

In 1998, Shoemaker won two Grammy awards for 'Rock Album Of The Year' and 'Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical' for her work on Crowe's 'The Globe Sessions', making her the first woman ever to win the latter. Since then, she has won more Grammys for her work with Steven Curtis Chapman and Tanya Tucker.

Other acts she has worked with include Queens of the Stone Age, Shakira, Pearl Jam, Josh Ritter, Brandi Carlile, Grayson Capps, Faith Hill, Joe Cocker, Iggy Pop, The Throwing Muses, Giant Sand, The Indigo Girls, Something for Kate, Nanci Griffith, Kristin Hersh, and The Dixie Chicks.
