Most people who uses a reverb as an insert, do it when the reverb effect is exclusively tailored to the audio track of which is it inserted on. It's also a way of making sure this particular reverb plugin instance is not shared, even by mistake. If placed as a send, you always risk somewhere down the line, that you forget this reverb plugin has been dialed in to a particular audio track, and shouldn't be messed with.

On Youtube I'm kinda expecting people to make the classic mistake of not level matching when A/B comparing. But I'm surprised MWTM does this mistake as well. Each time Chris switches from "flat" to "master", there's an obvious jump in volume, making the comparison worthless.
