Sean Savage, born in Toronto, Canada, with summers spent in London, England, grew up immersed in diverse musical influences, from Toronto’s live radio broadcasts to BBC Radio 1. This exposure shaped his eclectic musical ethos, rejecting rigid genre boundaries and embracing all kinds of music.
Savage is a multifaceted artist—a mastering engineer, producer, remixer, performer, and radio presenter. A music lover at heart, he believes music should evoke emotion, be memorable, and make people move. This passion drove him to DJ at events and clubs, where he honed his skills by observing crowd dynamics and refining his seamless mixing, song selection, and programming. His experiences inspired him to rework existing tracks to better suit his needs as a DJ, eventually sparking his desire to create original music.
Initially lacking his own tracks, Savage used the “White Label” era to test his creations during DJ sets, gauging audience reactions while posing the tracks as anonymous releases. Encouraged by the positive feedback, he pursued production school and built his skills as a mastering engineer. He ventured into remixing, navigating the creative constraints imposed by labels and artists.
In 2013, Savage founded Dibgate Records, a platform to independently release music aligned with his creative vision. He values the unpredictable nature of the creative process, capturing moments of imperfection and spontaneity. Savage’s music reflects his belief that over-intellectualizing art can strip it of vitality. Guided by an inner voice, he remains true to his instincts and creative needs, even if misunderstood by others.
Focused on crafting tracks for the dancefloor rather than radio, Savage’s music is designed to make listeners feel connected and part of something larger through the act of dancing. His unique sound blends mechanical precision with spiritual depth, rolling house and techno into a soulful, kinetic experience. This dynamic fusion, characterized by raw energy and emotional resonance, has cemented his reputation as an innovative producer creating “wild music for the eternal soul.”
