Description
Step into the mixing ring with Jaycen Joshua and train your ears in the art of critical listening. In this series, the Grammy Award-winning engineer embarks on a mission to find the new gold standard for mix referencing. Follow him into the studio and watch him analyze a collection of chart-topping mixes by Serban Ghenea, Dr. Dre, Spike Stent and more.
Filmed during one of our exclusive on-site masterclasses, this series will put your critical listening skills to the ultimate test. Jaycen studies a series of mixes from some of the world’s best engineers, uncovering the potential strengths and weaknesses of each one. You will learn how to diagnose sonic problems and resolve them using specialist techniques such as pre-mastering, de-masking, transient enhancement, spatial processing and more.
As Jay moves through different eras, styles and genres, he emphasizes the vital role that the listener plays in the mixing process. He will teach you how to identify an artist’s audience and hear the music from their perspective. This subjective approach will transform your mixing workflow, enabling you to craft knockout mixes with speed and precision.
