Yes. You can cancel your membership at any time directly from your account settings.

If you are on an annual plan (upfront or monthly), cancelling stops the renewal but does not release you from the remaining payments of your current annual term. Access to content is maintained until the end of your subscription period and no pro-rata refund is issued, except where required by applicable consumer law.

If you are on the Pro Flex plan, there is no annual commitment — you can cancel at any time. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing month and will not be renewed. No refund is issued for the time remaining between your cancellation date and the end of the month.

Events

The MWTM team offers a variety of educational events, both online and in person.

Our in-person seminars are hosted in Paris at Rue Boyer Studios, featuring hands-on learning with renowned industry professionals. Lunch is provided for seminars, but participants must arrange their own transport, accommodation, and other meals.

Webinars are live online events hosted by our Masters. No prior registration is required — simply log in and join. Access to the live stream and replays varies depending on the webinar type and your membership level. A chat is available during the session, moderated by the MWTM team.

Applications are made directly from each event's page. Our simple application process involves letting us know about your experience with audio and including some examples of projects you've worked on. Applications are welcome from everybody!

The MWTM programme was launched in 2010 after the first ever week-long seminar was conducted at Studios La Fabrique in the South of France. At the time, it was intended to be a one-off event and the company did not exist. After the astonishing success and positive feedback following the debut seminar, MWTM was formed and further seminars were hosted featuring different guest speakers. To date, over one hundred and twenty seminars have taken place! Our events are now held at Rue Boyer Studios in Paris.

Aside from hosting an average of twelve week-long seminars per year, MWTM has also run a number of seminars and exclusive recording studio gatherings in the United States, typically coinciding with pro audio conventions by NAMM and AES. Our presence at these conventions has involved hundreds of live hour-long workshops given by A-list producers and engineers using a large-format console on stage!

In the United Kingdom, Mix with the Masters has conducted seminars in London, exhibited at conferences, and curated a number of special guest appearances at Abbey Road Studios for its 90th anniversary festival in 2021.

Community Forum

The forum is available to all paid members (Pro, Expert, and Access). It is hosted on Discourse and is not indexed by search engines, keeping discussions within the community. Members are expected to follow our community conduct guidelines — spam, harassment, copyright infringement, and illegal content are not permitted. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or membership termination in serious cases. To report a problem, use the flag button on any post or email [email protected].

AI Tools

Explorer is an AI-powered assistant available to Pro and Expert members. It answers questions about audio production based on the MWTM video catalogue. Explorer is currently in beta — its answers may contain errors or inaccuracies and should not replace professional advice. Always verify important information before acting on it. Your conversation history is saved and can be deleted manually at any time from your account settings.

ROCS (developed by REDI Acoustics) is an acoustic optimization tool exclusive to Expert members. Enter your room dimensions, speaker model, and listening position to receive a frequency response analysis and acoustic treatment suggestions. Note that ROCS only works for rectangular (cuboid) rooms and does not constitute certified acoustic engineering advice.

Technical requirements

Our video catalogue is supplied as an online streaming service. Videos are streamed over the internet and are not stored on your computer when you watch them on the web, so a working internet connection is required throughout. Access is supplied for the duration of your membership. Offline viewing is available separately through our mobile app, described below.

We do not use a DRM. There are therefore no DRM-related restrictions on which devices, browsers or operating systems can play our videos. Streaming is delivered over encrypted HLS. Videos downloaded in the mobile app are standard MP4 files held inside the app.

Videos are streamed adaptively at three quality levels — 576p (1024×576), 720p (1280×720) and 1080p (1920×1080) — encoded in H.264. Audio is AAC stereo at 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz. The player selects the level that suits your connection, and you can also select a level yourself. Not every title is available at 1080p; some older titles are available at lower levels only. Quality levels are not restricted by membership tier.

Offline downloads are available in the MWTM mobile app for iOS and Android with an eligible membership. They are not available on the web platform. In the app settings you can choose standard quality (854×480, around 1.2 Mbps video with 128 kbps AAC audio) or high quality (1280×720, around 2.4 Mbps video with 160 kbps AAC audio); where a title has no high-quality version the app downloads the standard one. We do not limit how many videos you may download — the practical limit is the free storage on your device. The app also has a setting to download over Wi-Fi only.

The web platform runs in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Your browser needs to support TLS 1.2 or later and HLS video playback, which all current versions of these browsers do. In practice, a browser released within the last two years running on an operating system that still receives updates from its vendor will work. For hardware we suggest a 2 GHz or faster processor and 4 GB of RAM or more. For video playback we suggest a sustained connection of at least 2 Mbps for 576p, 2.5 Mbps for 720p and 5 Mbps for 1080p.

The MWTM mobile app requires iOS 15.1 or later, or Android 7.0 or later. It is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and updates — including security updates — are supplied through those stores. We recommend keeping automatic updates switched on, as some features depend on running a current version of the app.
