Beck David Hansen (born July 8, 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he rose to prominence in the early 1990s on the strength of his breakthrough single 'Loser'. Celebrated for his prolific creativity and signature lyrical wit, Beck has since released over a dozen critically and commercially acclaimed albums spanning folk, hip-hop, electronic, soul, and psychedelia. Two of those records, ‘Odelay’ and ‘Sea Change’, earned spots on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. He holds eight Grammy Awards.
