Raised in Inglewood, California, DJ Dahi discovered hip-hop through rhythm first. Growing up in a strict household where curse words were off-limits, he learned to listen beyond the lyrics, developing a deep instinct for beats, texture, and emotion. Emerging in the early 2010s alongside a new wave of West Coast artists, Dahi quickly stood out for his ability to balance raw energy with feeling. His breakout work on Kendrick Lamar's "Money Trees" helped define the sound of good kid, m.A.A.d city, leading to further collaborations with Lamar, Drake, Dr. Dre, SZA, Travis Scott, Mac Miller, and more. Now signed to Def Jam Recordings, Dahi continues to shape the sound of modern hip-hop and R&B through a production style that is both powerful and deeply musical.
