Bio

Stephen J. Lipson is a Grammy award-winning record producer, audio engineer, guitarist, and songwriter from England, U.K.

Lipson started out as a guitarist and songwriter in various bands, then in 1975 began to work as an engineer. In 1976, he opened his own recording studio with composer Duncan Bruce – the Regents Park Recording Company.

Lipson left Regents Park in 1978 and began freelancing. In 1983, he joined producer Trevor Horn at London’s iconic Sarm studios to work on Frankie Goes to Hollywood's debut single ‘Relax’. The two later co-produced on albums for many successful acts including Pet Shop Boys, Paul McCartney, and Simple Minds.

From 1991, Stephen took on most projects by himself and produced hits for Annie Lennox, Geri Halliwell, Jeff Beck, Juanes, S Club 7, and Will Young, to name but a few.

As a producer of movie scores, Lipson has worked extensively with Hans Zimmer and garnered credits on a number of blockbuster films including Top Gun: Maverick, The Boss Baby 2, Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, The Lion King, Rush, Superman: Man of Steel, and James Bond: No Time to Die.
