Producing and writing on a few projects spanning from indie-rock to synth-pop and even touching on acoustic indie-folk. Nowadays I geek out on recording techniques and mixing philosophies in order to complement my skillset.

    How would one split the bass into two channels like that? The only way I can think of is EQ - one channel with a low pass on and another with a high pass on, both around the same frequency to make sure the end product of the two channels is the same as the input. I'm assuming this is an in the box technique as there is perhaps more versatility if you have two mics recording the amp - one maybe has more low end and you cut the low end out of the second one.

    What's with the .04 kHz in the mid band of the API550A? All the images of the API on the internet show .4 kHz which makes more sense. Am I missing something?
