Is it just me, or was the mono room potentially out of phase? I noticed once that was introduced that the body of the drums disappeared.

I think the out of phase part was due to the video, because when he switches back to the slate plugin it instantly goes away. OHs were definitely out of phase though!

I like by far the ITB mix, it is thicker, more powerful, more body. Maybe it was the pultec, the sum of analog emulations, I don't know, but it sounds better with a difference.

The difference between ITB and Desk mix are easy to noticed when Chris switches between the two. For example, ITB mix has more body to its overall mix and can’t reach the brightness of the Desk mix. How would one emulates the deal mix would be simple using equalizer to drop the body or bottom end of the ITB and allow more air to flow through the mix. This would give it the best results without adding too much junk into the mix. Overall, like Chris said you will never get the ITB mix to sound good as the desk mix but, you can do other things to give it own character and give it justice as Chris would say. Finally, you will never make it sound good as Chris’s mix simply because he has been doing this longer and has what I call an anticipate ear, which means he can determine how the mix will sound with what plugins more effectively and efficiently then other professional auto engineers in the industry. It's really crazy to see how he adds 8Khz on EVERYTHING and sounds good... when I try this to my mixes I got finishing up with a really harsh mix... don't know how CLA doesn't get that. Magic ?

I think these tra ks have been pre-eq´d with some notch filters

The key factor is not the EQ it's how it's been tracked If you track really well with high quality gear mixing in the box sounds much better than if you track with a cheap sound card
