Bio
British-Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer Uzoechi Osisioma Emenike, better known as MNEK, was born on November 9, 1994, in South London, England.
His debut single, “If Truth Be Told,” was released in 2010 via the independent label Moshi Moshi. But MNEK first rose to prominence through his work behind the scenes, collaborating with some of the biggest names in pop, dance, and R&B. He contributed to hit records for artists including The Saturdays and Duke Dumont, before stepping into the spotlight with his own unmistakable voice.
His powerful, emotionally charged vocals were first widely heard on Gorgon City’s “Ready For Your Love” in 2014, a track that reached the UK Top 5. Since then, MNEK has collaborated with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Beyoncé, Madonna, Rudimental, Becky Hill, Shift K3Y, and Little Mix. His 2015 collaboration with Zara Larsson, “Never Forget You,” became a global hit.
That same year, MNEK released his EP Small Talk. In 2017, he appeared on Stormzy’s “Blinded By Your Grace, Pt. 2,” another major chart success. His debut album, Language, followed in 2018. In 2020, he co-wrote and featured on “Head & Heart,” followed by “Who You Are” in 2021.
